Coop Module | Nitte Institute of Architecture (NIA)

Coop module

Cooperative Education (co-op) is an experiential learning program that takes education beyond the classroom. Under this program, students in the sixth semester (third year) work under the supervision of a design professional, gaining practical experience and theoretical understanding in specialized, discipline related electives of their choice. Student work is periodically reviewed and evaluated by NIA faculty to ensure that academic goals are met.

The co-op program at Nitte Institute of Architecture (NIA) is built along the lines of the highly successful co-operative education program at the University of Cincinnati. During the co-op program students are able to practically apply what they have learnt in an academic setting. While the Program helps students develop their understanding of the world of architecture, it also provides them the opportunity to learn real-life professional and interpersonal skills.
